black70 B Am I the only one that prefers the ride and handling of the G1 machines over the G2s or am I just a freak!!! #1 · May 30, 2016 Am I the only one that prefers the ride and handling of the G1 machines over the G2s or am I just a freak!!! Sort by Oldest first Oldest first Newest first Most reactions #2 · May 30, 2016 You are not alone. I prefer the G1 setup over the G2 bikes as well. The G1 bikes you rin "in" them. The G2 bikes you ride "on" them. #3 · May 30, 2016 There are a bunch of us that do not want to step into the G2 framed machines. I love my 08 and even more so since I recently upgraded to Elka stage 4 shocks.

#4 · May 30, 2016 My buddy has a g2 he never even sat on a g1 till I just got my xmr . After 3 seconds he said mine was way nicer to sit on his wife said the same . You sit too high on the g2 chassis and bars too low Sent from my HTC One M9 using Tapatalk #5 · May 30, 2016 I put 10,000k's on the old G1. Just ticked over 10,000k's on my G2. It took a little time to get used to the G2, but I wouldn't go back. The G2 is even nicer now that I've got the Elka's dialed in. #6 · May 30, 2016 7shortmag, that is exactly what I say. I use my machines for ranch work as well as trail riding, my 14 will not turn nearly as sharp, side-hill, or cut through ditches and draws nothing like my 07 or 08 will. I thought I was upgrading, but no matter how much I try to force myself to like this G2 machine, it just won't grow on me. To me, it rides and handles like a Yamaha Grizzly, squirrly and top heavy. I find myself leaving it parked in the shed and always using the G1 or the Commander. #7 · May 30, 2016 I have a love / hate relationship with my G1. I still prefer it over the G2. I feel more in control on my G1 over a G2. #8 · Jun 1, 2016 I'm very surprised to be reading all this . This winter someone brought up a similar topic on dootalk about a zx chassis vs rev anyone who preferred the zx chassis ( my self included) was totally morons and should get our heads checked professionally lol Sent from my HTC One M9 using Tapatalk #9 · Jun 1, 2016 Zx over the Rev? Wtf. I could see Rev or the XP. But not the Zx #10 · Jun 1, 2016

See my point exactly. A friend of mine bought his rev new in 07 put 55ookm on it sold it last year picked up 03 mxz 700 zx chassis . Can't say he didn't give it a chance but he never liked it . I hate the new sleds personally . Sent from my HTC One M9 using Tapatalk #11 · Jun 2, 2016 It's all personal preference.....though a bit of seat time may change ones mind & I can't honestly tell you that I've ridden a G2 for all that long. I was reluctant to upgrade my REV at first, now I would not go back. There was a learning curve to the newer XR chassis for sure, but once dialed in there is sooo much to love about it. I know a guy from Ontario that will not part with his ZX and he bought a REV last fall. #12 · Jun 2, 2016 Had a 2011 650 xt, upgraded to a 2014 800rxt! That's right UP graded! Would not go back, g1 you can whip around the rear end better, but that's it! The traction is so much better on the g2, and so much meaner looking! The old g1 is kind of nerdy looking jmo #13 · Jun 2, 2016 Yet, the guys I know who mod the hell out of them and ride the snot out of them, all prefer g1. G1 still has a huge following and demand. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk #14 · Jun 2, 2016 When cutting cows, the G1 gets it done, while the G2 will be laying on it's side. G2 cannot make the quick cuts to keep up with the cows. When it comes to traction, neither my G2 or G1s can hold a candle to the Commander, it will go places in 2WD that the ATVs wouldn't think of in 2WD. #15 · Jun 2, 2016 I had both and I'm on the fence. I liked things about the G1, I liked things about the G2. When It comes time to start wrenching on them, I'll take a G1 any day. The G2 chassis is a horribly designed mess to try and work on. It wasn't well thought out when the plastics are off. #16 · Jun 3, 2016 One thing I will say, I snorkeled my 650 g1, factory stealth, and it wasn't half as noisy as my factory snorkel g2 , it's like a megaphone in your face! Very loud! I hope that's normal? Hehe....and I agree that the g1 can break loose the rear end better! #17 · Jun 3, 2016 (Edited by Moderator) Love my G2 but they definitely are a lot heavier and you can feel it. Power steering helps alot. G1 was great after front HD springs installed. It did have some good qualities. Dare I say it felt more "flickable" without sounding like a Polaris snowmobile post..lol Insert Quotes Post Reply
