Will the G3100 actually give me greater range for new devices and a stronger signal in existing device locations? I get the impression from it's description I will but don't know if that is just advertising.2. If I used the same network name and password in the new router, would I just be able to swap routers and go, or do I need to "reinstall" each device in the network? Thanks! |

So definitely good range on the 3100's compared to anything else VZ has deployed in the past.As far as you re-using your current SSID or SSIDs generally as long as you use the same spelling which is also case sensitive and the same wireless encryption it should work without issues. On a few rare occasions I’ve swapped access points and for whatever reason I had to remove the WiFi network from the wireless client and re-add it while at the same time another wireless client had no problem picking up the new AP with prior ssid, just one of those things... |

If you have wireless AX devices, probably better range and signal (if using 2.4ghz). If you use same network name and password, and use wpa2 and not 3, you should be able to keep using current wifi devices without interruption (assuming you use wpa2 now). |

As to my devices, I don't know of any devices except for maybe my new iPhones or MacBooks could support it.As to wpa 2 or 3, I thought the G1100 was only wpa 2, but I could be wrong about that. |

I even had it replaced once and the replacement was just as bad. My neighbor had the same issue also. The G3100 again for me has a much greater range than the G1100 and seems to be solid. I'm on gigabit and I have one AX PC and and two phones where I see around 300/300 Mbps with a link speed around 680 Mbps usually. I do feel the Wi-Fi could be a little better speed wise but the range seems pretty good so far. I have small 1400 square foot home and the router covers the entire house and good portion of the front and back yards. For me I did use the same SSID but I still had to reconnect a few wireless devices. |

All of the wireless devices reconnected without any problem. There was no indication that they even noticed that anything was different. |

This is a little slow. I can pull 400Mbps+ on G1100's 802.11ac a floor below. For G3100's 802.11ax, I am expecting to see at least 650Mbps+ on newer phones. |
