G603 Vs G703 - Is The G703 Worth The Extra? - Linus Tech Tips

Okay so basically, on Amazon UK, there's a ~£20 price delta between Logitech's G603 and G703 wireless mice. They seem really similar other than the 703 supports PowerPlay which I won't be using anyway.

The g703 has an internal battery whereas the g603 requires AA batteries. PMW3366 sensor vs hero sensor on the g603 (which is supposed to be more power efficient). And the most important thing for a lot of people ... RGB . If it's worth the higher price is up to you.

I don't see any reason why the G703 is superior enough to justify the cost.

On a note about battery life, the G603 lasts a stupid long time. I bought mine like two or so years ago, it came with batteries, and I only had to replace them once (it was sometime last year). Though this is on the "LO" setting, which I think is plenty enough.

If you care about not replacing the battery and want to buy extra $100 powerplay mousepad only then you choose 703 if not just buy 603 both are very similar

So the only real differences are the sensor, the battery and the RGB. I'm not too bothered by the lack of RGB since my hand will be on the mouse most of the time. The 603 has the HERO sensor which unless I'm much mistaken is Logitech's baby? Like they put it in the new MX518. And the battery configuration. And if I can just swap out AA batteries in the G603 when they die, I'd argue that's better than the inevitable degradation of the G703s battery.

Maybe I don't know what to look for, but honestly after using a variety of mice, assuming a good enough surface I really can't tell any appreciable difference between any of the sensors. Maybe there's something with helping with precise movements but I haven't really been in that situation.

I went with the 703 a couple of weeks ago and it started doing the middle button double click which is annoying as hell. I’m sending mine back tomorrow and going back to ole faithful, the wired g502

g pro wireless if want great small mouse for $100. but want big mouse that great shape get the g603 for $50. but g703 sucks because its overprice.

Okay the G603 had gone up in price to the point it was basically the same as the G703. So I got the G703 and I love it. It's the perfect size for my hand, the RGB is tasteful, it just works (I know it's from Logi not Nvidia but it does), and I've had it for 2 months with no issues.
