Gardening - Wizard 101 Free Codes

(This is a long post)

I’ve decided to create a blog post on the awesome money-making power of Green Grapes of Wrath. Seriously. Think max gold every few days.

Now if you’re a serious gardener, I’m sure you’re wondering why I didn’t choose Red Grapes of Wrath as my money-making plant. Red Grapes of Wrath drop the same general “grape” snacks, plus Purple and Green Grapes of Wrath seeds, and give a Sun Fruit mega-snack at elder. Reds seemed like the obvious choice at first, but as I started researching them further, I unearthed several reasons why Green Grapes of Wrath are a far better plant to grow on a large scale for gold.

red vs green grapes

There you have it. Easy maintenance and easy on the energy consumption. So here’s my method of farming Green Grapes of Wrath to get a ridiculous amount of gold.

Unfortunately, you need a little gold to start. You may want to consider creating/designating a character for this little project, simply so you aren’t constantly using all your energy on your main character.

Here’s a list of everything you need:

  • 24 Red Grapes of Wrath
  • 24 enchanted medium pots or plant plots
  • Weapons rack and Fickle Pickle (optional)
  • 1 completely empty luxury-sized house. (Available for 100,000-125,000 gold. Don’t worry, you’ll make that much before you’re ready to really start)
  • Energy Elixirs. (More on that later. See my previous post involving obtaining them.)

If you have this, you’re ready to get started.

Start by planting your 24 Red Grapes of Wrath. (And place a Fickle Pickle and a weapons rack if you want them to have likes.) I like to use the plant pots and place them in my dorm room, since I don’t go there very often. After you plant them, within 2 days, cast the “Miniature Bloodbats” pest protection spell. This will save you some hassle later on when you’re constantly having your energy drained by these things.

Just take care of your grapes. I strictly visit mine once per day, when I know I have enough energy to take care of all their needs. After they’re mature, they usually give you one harvest per day. Their mature harvests are as follows:

  • 3 “grapes” snacks
  • Chance of a Killer Tomato or Dastardly Radish snack
  • 1 seed. (about 50% of either Green Grapes of Wrath or Purple Grapes of Wrath)

Sell the Purple Grapes of Wrath seeds and all the snacks, and keep the money. Transfer any Green Grapes of Wrath over to the character designated. Keep this up until you have 120 Green Grapes of Wrath. (about 10 harvests) If you wilted your Red Grapes of Wrath at all, oh well. It’ll just set you behind 2 days each time you do, and it isn’t a huge deal. As soon as you have the coins to do so, you should buy your luxury-sized house. It doesn’t have to be a Red Barn Farm, but it does have to have a large open area somewhere, either inside or outside. Any “school” house will also work. (Life house, Fire house, Storm house, etc.)

(After you have your Green Grapes of Wrath seeds, you can either continue caring for your Red Grapes of Wrath until elder stage and get the Sun Fruit snack, or just let them die and plow them. Whichever is better for you.)

The reason you should buy your house as soon as you’re able to is so your other character can get a head-start on digging plots. This means less Energy Elixir used, which is awesome! Transfer this house to the designated character, and find a large, open space. You should start plowing out a layered stack of 120 medium plots. This is a difficult plot setup to create, so I’ll have a guide on stacking soon. I promise!

Once you have 120 Green Grapes of Wrath seeds, and a luxury house with 120 stacked medium plots, with your likes floating and planted, you’re ready to begin. You’ll need Energy Elixir to plant all your seeds at once. I’m sorry, you just will.

  • Max Energy: 80-120          Elixirs Needed: 3
  • Max Energy: 60-79            Elixirs Needed: 4
  • Max Energy: 48-59            Elixirs Needed: 5
  • Max Energy: 40-47            Elixirs Needed: 6

Start with full energy, and start planting. (Remember! Plant TOP TO BOTTOM! If you plant bottom to top, you will lose your energy without planting a seed.) When your energy is gone, drink an Energy Elixir and continue.

While it’s totally annoying to have to farm Grub Guardian for Energy Elixirs and keep them stashed in your gift box for a while, the gold is going to last you a while. It’s worth it, I promise.

When you’re taking care of your Green Grapes of Wrath, you need to be sure that you’re using the spells “Uncanny Magic” and “Flute Symphony.” The maximum number of plants a large-area garden spell covers is 69. Since you have 120 plants, you’ll need to use these “All indoor/All outdoor” spells. Otherwise, you’re stuck spending twice as much energy. If you do it right, you should need 30 energy for needs, and a little extra for a bug spray spell.

Alright!

Now you’re ready to watch the cash roll in. Green Grapes of Wrath drop “grape” snacks. These are Green Grapes, Ape Grapes, and Golden Grapes. Normally you can’t sell them in the Bazaar above their minimum price, but that’s okay. There’s going to be so many snacks it doesn’t matter.

Green Grapes snacks usually sell for 150 gold. Ape Grapes are 200 gold, and Golden Grapes are 250 gold. You get 2 random grape snacks per mature harvest, plus a chance of either a Killer Tomato or a Dastardly Radish snack. Killer Tomato snacks usually go for 350 gold, and Dastardly Radish are around 300 gold. You also get a chance of Sun Fruit at elder.

As you get these snacks, place them in the shared bank. Withdraw and start selling them on whatever characters you want to have some serious cash. What will you do with all that gold? Buy a permanent mount from the crown shop? Upgrade to some wicked gear? Buy a pet? Tell me in the comments! Happy gardening and gold farming!
