Go For Either Crit Rate or Crit DMG Weapons

Ideally, it's best to have a Crit Rate weapon since this will allow you to build purely Crit DMG in her artifacts. The best weapon for this build is the Polar Star since it not only provides a good chunk of Crit Rate, but its effects are also great with Ganyu.

Uses Of Ganyu's Elemental Skill

Removes Aggro From Ganyu

Ganyu can use her Elemental Skill to keep distance to enemies. It attracts the attention of enemies making them attack the flower instead of Ganyu. Since Ganyu relies on keeping distance and her Charged Attack to deal powerful damage, use this as a distraction.

Uses Of Ganyu's Elemental Burst

Elemental Burst Provides A Wide & Constant Cryo DMG

Her burst only costs 60 energy and last 15 seconds also a 15 second cooldown, making it easy to maintain on the field. Unlocking her talent, Harmony between Heaven and Earth, will also increase the Cryo DMG bonus of the character that stays in its area. This skill effect remains even after switching making it easier to deal elemental combos.

Use Charged Attack To Deal Powerful AoE Damage

The Main Damage Source for Ganyu comes from her Charged Attacks. Note that she has two levels of Charged Attacks. The First level is just like any other Charged Attacks, while the Second Level provides a Bloom effect! Bloom creates additional Cryo damage, dealing multiple instances of Cryo application and DMG!

Second Full Charged Attack Gets An Increase On Critical Rate

Another powerful aspect in Ganyu's kit is her Passive Talent, Undivided Heart. This increases the Crit Rate of her Bloom. This is basically a free 20% CRIT Rate for Ganyu making her easier to build as a DPS.

Should You Pull for Ganyu's Constellation Or Best Weapon?

C1 > C6 > Amos' Bow

C1 is a Good Stopping Point Until C6

Ganyu's common teams, whether focusing on her Burst or her "Frostflake Arrow Blooms", will usually want her to use her Lv.2 Charge Attacks (Frostflake Arrow), either as a primary damage source or for Energy. Apart from the small Cryo RES decrease, Ganyu's C1 gives a small amount of energy for every Lv.2 Frostflake Arrow that hits. The value of the energy from this constellation depends on Ganyu's teams. A Freeze team that wants to keep using her Burst as soon as it comes off cooldown would find it useful, while a Melt team with Ganyu as the main on-field DPS can't really take full advantage of C1 since Melt teams typically wouldn't want her to use her Burst.

Outside of the Energy, the Cryo RES decrease from C1 is a bit more usable across most of Ganyu's team options, which amounts to a modest increase to her personal damage per "Frostflake Arrow". If you want to get slightly more out of Ganyu's performance and would like to invest in her directly, pulling for C1 is a viable option. Her next best constellation after C1 is likely C6, but depending on your pulling funds, this may be an unrealistic goal.

Other 5-Star Bows are Better

In contrast, her Signature Weapon has been outperformed over the years by other limited 5-star bows, even on Ganyu herself. It'd be more ideal to get The First Great Magic or Aqua Simulacra for her since they're both a lot more universal while also being a significant damage increase compared to Amos' Bow. Her Signature Weapon will perform decently if you happen to get it on the standard banner or on a pity loss, but it's generally not worth allocating funds towards, apart from aesthetics.

Ganyu's kit is very much complete and usable at her baseline (C0) even without 5-star weapons, so whether you vertically invest into Ganyu comes down to personal choices and how much you're willing to spend for her specifically.

Qilins are illuminated beasts with amazing powers. Ganyu is half-Qilin thus making her long-lived and resilient. Her Qilin horns pop out of her hair, but she often says it's ornaments in fear that people may distance themselves from her.
