Nothing great, but it seems the 6K overall looses some fine detail compared to the 4K is my take on it. But I gather the 4K is better now compared to the G85 that I own V

GH5 6k video is much sharper and cleaner than normal GH5 4k video. It uses h.265 10bit 200Mbs codec. It is comparable to h.264 400Mbs ipb or 1000 Mbs intra. It uses 100% sensor pixels so there is no moire or aliasing. Here is one stopped frame of GH5 6k video. It not even at best resolution or best iso. Camera: Panasonic DC-GH5 Details: 60 mm, 1/125 sec, f/11, ISO 200 Dimensions: 4,992 × 3,744 (18.7 MP), ful sensor width 5,184 × 3300 is better for video. While H.265 can be used for video many editing packages don't support it (yet), and those that do will require a more robust PC to run it. V

GH5 6k video is too hard stuff for most for editing and playing. It is still a very high quality video using standard HEVC codec. If someone needs absolute best video resolution and color fidelity the 6k video offers it. 6k vs 4k video is like comparing 8 Mpixel still camera vs 20Mpixel still camera. D

I'm sorry, but pretty much this entire post is bologna. It's not any better for stills than it is video. it also doesn't require that much hardware to process, what it requires is an nle that uses GPU hardware acceleration and then it'll work fine. W

Joined Feb 25, 2017 Messages 1,802 No. The G9 supports 6k photo (which has video-like properties) and 6k post focus (which produces a video file) but not 6k video in a direct sense. This thread is probably reactivated as a result of this more recent one, which covers your question more specifically. D

The G9 only has a 6k photo modes. It doesn't have 6k video support. For example the photo modes have no audio!
