  🚨 #TariffAlert: Canada released a comprehensive list of #steel derivative products that will be subject to a 25% tariff effective December 26, 2025. The scope is broad, covering items such as prefabricated steel buildings, structural components (including bridges and towers), wire and fencing products, chains, fasteners, springs, furniture, lighting parts, and other iron and steel articles. Key considerations for importers: ✅ #Exclusions apply for goods already in transit, certain Chapter 98 items, casual goods, products already covered under existing surtax orders, and specific uses such as vehicle, aircraft, and qualifying energy projects. ✅ Tariff #remission may be available on a case-by-case basis where goods cannot be sourced domestically or where the tariff would result in significant economic harm. With an effective date approaching, impacted businesses should review product classifications, supply chains, and potential eligibility for exemptions or remission to manage compliance and cost exposure. https://lnkd.in/gUq3e7qy

GHY’s Alan Dewar, Samantha Krist, CCS, CTCS, US CCS, and Rhonda Galbraith (left to right) were proud to participate, with Rhonda and Sam delivering on the workshop, and Al joining the expert panel to share insights on today’s rapidly evolving trade environment. This event brought together manufacturers, industry leaders, and government representatives for an engaging discussion on the real impacts of current tariff challenges and the practical support available to Saskatchewan businesses. At GHY, we’re committed to helping manufacturers stay ahead of shifting trade rules.   🇺🇸 🇰🇷 U.S. lowers #SouthKorea #tariffs under the U.S.–Korea Strategic Trade and Investment Deal, effective retroactively this November. What's inside: ✅ Effective Dates: Most tariff changes retroactive to Nov. 14, 2025; automobiles and auto parts retroactive to Nov. 1, 2025. ✅ Tariff Caps: Goods with a Column 1 duty <15% now capped at 15% total duty; goods ≥15% no longer face additional duties. ✅ Exemptions: Civil aircraft, engines, parts, and flight simulators from South Korea are exempt from prior additional duties. ✅ HTSUS Updates: New codes reflect revised duty treatment for vehicles, light trucks, and parts. ✅ Affected Goods: Timber, lumber, aircraft, automobiles, auto parts, and derivatives. ✅ #Drawback & Corrections: #Section232 duties remain eligible for drawback; previously filed entries can be corrected via PSC or protest.
