Aims:

Practice in the simple past tense.

Objectives:

By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to make sentences with the simple past tense.

Adverbs.

Structures:

S + was/were … + advT.

S + VP … + advT.

S + wasn’t/weren’t … + advT.

S + didn’t + Vinfi … + advT.

Was/Were + S … + advT ?

Did + S + Vinfi … ?

Yes, S + was/were/did. / No, S + wasn’t/weren’t/didn’t.

Wh + was/were + S … ?

Wh + did + S + Vinfi … ?

Ways of working:

Teacher – Ss, Whole class, teams, groups, pairs and individually.

Anticipated problem:

Ss might have difficulty in using VP.

– Greeting and checking attendance.

– Brainstorming “Adverbs”.

– Ask Ss to give form, use, meaning and explain.

– Let Ss to read the sentences.

b. Practice ( 30’ )

– Have Ss ask and aswer to make similar dialouges then correct.

– Get Ss to make dialouges with a partners.

– Give exercises and tell Ss to do.

* Chang the sentences into negatives and interrogatives:

* Make questions:

– Let Ss consolidate the lesson.

– Learn by heart the structures.
