I. Objectives

After the lesson Ss will be able to:

  • Asking and answering questions about where someone was in the past.
  • Listen for specific information. Develop: speaking, listening skills.
  • Ss look after, solve problems and study themselves.
  • Studious and obedient students and love their friends.

II. Language focus:

  • Vocabulary: about places, the time in the past.
  • Sentence patterns: - Where were you yesterday? – I was...

III. Teaching aids:

  1. Teacher’s: student’s and teacher’s book, objects, cassette.
  2. Students’: books, notebooks, workbooks.

IV. Procedure:

Warm up

* Have Ss play the game:

- Give the comment.

1. Look , listen and repeat

- Introduce the dialogue

- Present the way to ask, answer questions about where someone was in the past.

- Check some groups.

2. Point and say

-Guide Ss to say new sentence

- Give the meaning of new words.

- Do the task with a student.

Where were ....? I was....

- Correct.

3. Listen and tick.

- Guide Ss to listen and tick.

- Check and correct.

Reinforcement and homelink:

- Play the game: Asking and answering about someone’s actions.

- Ss look at the picture and identify the characters and what they are doing.

- Look and Listen the CD.

- Listen the dialogue and repeat.

- Read in pair and check.

- Identify where someone was.

- Note down: beach, yesterday....

- Listen and pay attention.

- Practice speaking in pairs.

- 6-7 pairs to talk in front of the class. The rest of class give comments.

- Ss look at the pictures in N 3 (P65). Identify where someone was.

- Listen the recording twice and tick. Compare the answer with the partner.

- 3 Ss give the answer: 1c 2c 3b

- Listen and check. Retell what have listened.

- Give out and check.

- Ss to do A,B at home.
