I acquired a Gigabyte GTX 1050 2GB dual fan in March. Honestly, it was a "life-saving" purchase because my main graphics card had damaged (AsRock Phantom RX 570 4GB) and the performance difference I was expecting was honestly different. To my surprise when I started using it, the Gigabyte GTX 1050 had more than decent performance, I personally considered it exceptional for its features and the games I usually play. Here are the system specifications: AMD Athlon 3000G + 2x8GB G.Skill Ripjaws V 2400Mh + Gigabyte GA-A320M + Thermaltake 600W TR2 And here's a list of game performance (obviously looking for the best possible graphical performance, without sacrificing FPS): TheWitcher 3 40 FPS @ 1080p Low CS:GO 154 FPS @ 1080p High GTA V 100 FPS @ 1080p Medium / +100 FPS @ 1080p Low Forza Horizon 5 40 FPS @ 1080p Medium / 60 FPS @ 1080p Low Destiny 2 64 FPS @ 1080p Low PUBG 50 FPS @ 1080p Low Cyberpunk 2077 40 FPS @ 1080p Low + FSR 1.0 Elden Ring 36 FPS @ 1080p Low / 60 FPS @ 720p High Far Cry 6 42 FPS @ 1080p Low + FSR 1.0 / 70 FPS @ 720p High + FSR 1.0 FIFA 22 60 FPS @ 1080p High Fortnite 132 FPS @ 1080p Low God of War 40 FPS @ 1080p Low / 60 FPS @ 1080p Low + FSR 1.0 RDR2 40 FPS @ 900p Low / 60 FPS @ 720p High COD Warzone 65 FPS @ 1080p Low With performance similar to a PS4, I must admit I am satisfied with this graphics card in a future scenario where I have to use it again if my main one fails again. Clearly, it is still up to demanding games, the graphic sacrifice at 720p in games like Elden Ring and RDR2 isn't as severe as to not enjoy the gaming experience. However, if you're looking for an acceptable FPS rate, such a sacrifice is necessary with this particular card.
Pros
- Excellent for eSports
- Compatible with FSR 1.0
- 60 FPS achievable in most games
- Able to play at 1080p in most games
- Low profile and low power usage
- Compact size
Cons
- Resolution and graphics sacrifice in demanding AAA games to maintain stable FPS
- Clearly not designed for modern AAA games
- Not designed for 'hardcore gaming'
