VNG Cloud started as a digital infrastructure development department to provide internal services for VNG in the field of games, social networking services, and in particular, Vietnam's No. 1 online chat application - Zalo, which has over 100 million users.

This solid premise enables VNG Cloud's core technical team to confidently provide the best solutions and services to corporate customers today.

Starting the journey

VNG was founded on September 9, 2004, under the former brand name VinaGame (VNG).

2007

Establishment of VINA DATA

The grand opening of VINA DATA, Vietnam's state-of-the-art data center, took place to oversee the usage and storage of data for all products of VNG.

• Serving 100 million users.
• Having over 10,000 servers.

2014

Vietnam's first tech unicorn

VNG was evaluated 1 billion USD by World Startup Report, and become the first and only unicorn startup of Vietnam.

2018

Launching cloud services

• Introducing cloud services catering to top enterprise customers.
• Ranked among the Top 50 leading IT companies in Vietnam for three consecutive years.

2019

Transformative steps

• Officially rebranded as VNG Cloud.
• Ranked among the Top 5 leading cloud service providers in Vietnam.
• Engaged in various technology events and supported Vietnamese startups such as Shark Tank, Start Up Wheel, Vietnam Cloud.
• Computing and Data Center Club (VNCDC), and Tech Day 2019.

2021 - 2021

Efforts to assert position

• Achieved certification as a Secure Cloud Platform in Vietnam.
• Strategic partner with over 200+ IT service providers.
• In May: Recognized by the Ministry of Information and Communications as one of the four cloud service providers achieving national standards.
• In August: Met all 153 criteria for Vietnamese cloud service providers serving the Digital Government.

2022 - Now

Milestone of growth

• The Grand Opening of VNG Data Center in Tan Thuan EPZ, which is one of the three Tier III DCs certified by the Uptime Institute in Vietnam.
