Chord names

Gm7 is a minor 7th chord (a less common abbreviation is Gmin7). Gm7/Bb, Gm7/D and Gm7/F are inversions of the chord. Gm7 can be seen as a Bb chord with G in the bass, or Bb6/G.

Notes in the chord

The notes that the Gm7 chord consists of are G, Bb, D, F. To get Gm9 add A. To get G7 replace Bb with B.

Index (1st) finger on all string, 3rd fret. Ring (3rd) finger on 5th (thinnest) string, 5th fret.
