Kunalc K Hi guys, I brought a 55 plate 1.6 Fsi from a VW dealership almost a year ago with a service plan with 42k on the clock. Recently, selecting 1st and reverse gears hasn't been as easy as it should be, so I called VW up asking how much it would cost for a gearbox oil change and I was told that 'it is unnecessary' since the car is neither 4wd or fitted with a DSG box... The problem is worse with a cold engine but does also happen sometimes when the car has had time to warm up. I have seen many forums regarding gearbox oil changes on diesel VAG cars, but none specifically about petrols. Is it actually unnecessary to change the gearbox oil at 47k (which is what it is today) or is it something worth doing as I plan to keep the car for a while yet? Thanks in advance Kunal #1 · Apr 5, 2016 Hi guys, I brought a 55 plate 1.6 Fsi from a VW dealership almost a year ago with a service plan with 42k on the clock. If you having trouble I would get the clutch hydraulics checked and bled. #3 · Apr 5, 2016 Thanks for the reply Keith It isn't causing me that much bother yet, I just thought as it was going in for a service, this was something else that can be done while the car is there. If the problem was to get worse I will look into the clutch hydraulics. Insert Quotes Post Reply
