Jan 8, 2018 9 0 510 Need some opinions if its worth upgrading to from a gtx 780 to a gtx 1060 3gb, I found one for 100 dollars and Ive been wanting to try vr and I have seen that the 1060 is vr ready, I do casual Gaming but I do have some Triple A games like the Tomb Raider and Overwatch and if I would just be better off what I have. Solution Generally speaking, a 780 and 3GB 1060 aren't too far apart performance-wise. The 1060 has the edge, to the tune of 10-20%, depending on the title etc.... but all in all, I don't think it's a worthwhile upgrade. BUT, for $100? Assuming it works fine etc ($100 seems really low), you should be able to sell the 780 for $80-$100 itself. So, for a net spend of $0-$20, I'd actually do it. A 3GB 1060 isn't going to give you a perfect VR experience, but certainly capable enough. Sort by date Sort by votes Barty1884
