GTX 970M vs GTX 1050 which is better?

Mar 13, 2017 1 0 510 I'm looking to buy a gaming laptop and want it 1K or less and trying to decide between an ASUS ROG 17.3" GL753VD with GTX 1050 4GB i7 7700HQ 1 TB HDD 16 GB RAM or Alienware R3 17.3" AW17R3-4175SLV i7 6700HQ GTX 970m 3GB 1 TB HDD 256 GB SSD 16 GB RAM It seems 970M is slightly better than 1050? Or am I missing something? Solution The 970M is slightly more powerful than the GTX 1050 (http://gpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Nvidia-GTX-970M-vs-Nvidia-GTX-1050/m17319vs3650). However, the Asus CPU i7-7700HQ is more powerful than the Alienware i7-6700HQ (http://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Intel-Core-i7-7700HQ-vs-Intel-Core-i7-6700HQ/m211019vsm34954).
