If you don’t plan to spend the entire day at either park, save money by getting the later entry or weeknight tickets.

How to Buy Tokyo Disneyland Park Tickets

Park tickets are sold two months in advance at 2 PM Japan time. The official Tokyo Disney Resort website has a helpful calendar showing available tickets. Once you have your park tickets, you can enter the park that day. There are no park reservations, unlike other Disney Parks.
Here’s a rundown of where you can buy tickets for Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea.
- Klook (the easiest way to buy tickets from overseas)
- Official Tokyo Disney Resort Website
- Tokyo Disney Resort App
- With your Disney Hotel reservation
- Guaranteed entry
- The only way to buy physical tickets (see FAQ at the end of the article for more info)
- 7-11, LAWSON, Family Mart, and Ministop convenience stores throughout Japan
- JTB Travel Agents in Japan
Keep in mind that you cannot buy tickets at any ticket booths. You must buy tickets beforehand (unless you’re a Disney Hotel guest).
Disney Stores in Japan no longer sell tickets at their counters without a reservation. You must make a reservation through the Shop Disney Japan app in Japanese.
What’s the easiest way to buy Tokyo Disneyland tickets?
If your credit card works, the easiest is through the Tokyo Disney Resort website. The second way is to stay at Disney Hotel with guaranteed admission and pay at the hotel.
If all else fails, then I highly recommend Klook. It’s a third party that I trust and have used for many years.
Disney Hotel Guests are Guaranteed Park Entry
A perk for staying at Disney Hotels is guaranteed entry into the Parks. During your stay, you can buy tickets at the hotel with cash or a credit card. You can also buy tickets online with your reservation.
These Disney Hotels offer guaranteed park entry:
- Tokyo Disneyland Hotel
- Hotel MiraCosta
- Disney Ambassador Hotel
- Toy Story Hotel
- Tokyo Celebration Hotel
The Official Disney Hotels, including the Hilton Tokyo Bay and Sheraton Grande Tokyo Bay Hotel, no longer offer guaranteed entry. These hotels only offer park tickets with your hotel reservation, and you must reserve them through their official websites ahead of time. They’re no longer available at the hotel ticket counters.
For full details, check the Tokyo Disney Resort Hotels website.
Tokyo Disneyland Discount Tickets
Discounted tickets are sometimes available during the slower winter season. This is sometimes limited to residents in Japan. If you have a friend in Japan, ask them to buy tickets for you beforehand. Discounts are not much, usually around ¥700 (US$6.00).
Tokyo Disney Resort Annual Pass (Annual Passport)
Since reopening in 2020, Tokyo Disney Resort has not offered annual passes. Tokyo Disney Resort has no plans to offer annual passes anytime soon.
I can’t buy Tokyo Disneyland tickets online.
A common issue is that foreign (non-Japanese) credit cards do not work with the Tokyo Disney Resort website. If your credit card doesn’t work, the easiest solution is to buy your tickets from Klook. It’s a third-party service that I recommend and trust.
Here are a few other things to try.
Ensure your card has the 3-D Secure Authentication (MasterCard SecureCode and Verified by Visa). According to the Japanese FAQ (the English site doesn’t specify), the following credit cards are accepted.
Credit cards that are accepted at Tokyo Disneyland
- JCB
- Visa
- MasterCard
- AMEX (American Express)
- Orico
- Mitsubishi UFJ NICOS
Your card may or may not work, so it’s best to have a backup credit card. This applies to both the reservation site and for use inside the Parks.
If your credit card doesn’t work with the Tokyo Disney Resort Reservation system, here are a few options:
- Sign up for Wise and use their card to buy tickets through the Tokyo Disney Resort website (this is confirmed and works).
- Call your credit card provider to see if your transaction was blocked.
- Buy your tickets at your Disney Hotel (guaranteed admission; you can use cash if needed).
- Reserve tickets if you’re staying at one of the Official Hotels like the Hilton Tokyo Bay or Sheraton.
- Ask a friend in Japan to buy tickets for you.
How do I scan my ticket into the Tokyo Disney Resort App?
You’ll need your park tickets scanned into the Tokyo Disney Resort app to use the Disney Premier Access, Standby pass, Entry Request, and other functions.
If you buy your park tickets through the Tokyo Disney Resort app or website, they’ll automatically show up in your app, so there’s nothing for you to scan. Ensure you’re logged into the same account you bought them with.
For all other tickets, like physical tickets bought from a Disney Hotel, a third party like Kook, or a Japanese convenience store, you’ll have to manually scan them into the app. You can scan them before the day of your visit. Ensure your app is up-to-date, and tap the “Scan Ticket” option on the home screen.
How do I scan my Klook ticket?
You can scan your Klook ticket into the Tokyo Disney Resort app or any valid ticket bought anywhere. There’s a lot of confusion with Klook tickets and scanning them into the app. The reason is that the ticket says the following:
This ticket can be used to enter the Park only if displayed on a smartphone (printed tickets are not accepted).
I’ve used printed-out versions of the Klook ticket before and never had any issues, so your mileage may vary. If you want to avoid any potential issues:
- Use the digital Klook ticket on your phone to scan yourself into the park.
- Have a printed version of everyone’s Klook tickets to make it easier to scan into the app.
If you only have the digital version of the tickets, it can get tricky to scan into the app since there’s no way to upload a screenshot or photo of the QR code. You must use the camera feature in the app.
Park Tickets FAQ

Here are frequently asked questions regarding Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea tickets.
Can I scan Klook tickets to the Tokyo Disney Resort app?You can scan your Klook Park ticket into the Tokyo Disney Resort app.
Is Klook Legit?Yes, Klook is a legit company that we’ve recommended for years. Klook now offers 60% money back on tickets for Tokyo Disney Resort if you cannot visit for whatever reason for a small fee. Tokyo Disney Resort officially doesn’t offer refunds for tickets.
Do I need a park reservation for Tokyo Disneyland or Tokyo DisneySea?No, Tokyo Disney Resort doesn’t have park reservations like Walt Disney World or Disneyland Resort. Once you buy a ticket, you can visit the park on that date.
Where can I buy Tokyo Disneyland tickets? You can buy tickets through the official Tokyo Disney Resort website or third parties like Klook.
Can I buy Tokyo Disneyland or Tokyo DisneySea tickets at the ticket booths? You can’t buy tickets at either park’s ticket booths; you must buy them online or through the other methods listed in this article. While you’ll see some booths open, this is for those having issues with their purchased tickets.
When can I buy Tokyo Disneyland Park tickets?Tickets are available up to 60 days (2 months) in advance. You can check the park ticket availability on the official website.
What type of Tokyo Disneyland tickets can I buy?The only ticket available is dated 1-day park tickets for Tokyo Disneyland & Tokyo DisneySea. It’s not known when other ticket types are coming back.
Can I get a paper ticket to Tokyo Disney Resort? The only way to get a cute paper ticket is by buying them from a Disney or Official Hotel. Unfortunately, you cannot exchange your tickets for paper tickets anymore. You are not given a paper ticket when you go through the turnstiles.
Do Tokyo Disney tickets sell out?Tokyo Disneyland & Tokyo DisneySea tickets can sell out, so I recommend buying them as soon as you know what dates you wish to visit.
Are there park hopper tickets for Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea?Only 1-day park tickets are available, so no park hopping options exist. If you wish to visit both parks in one day, you can buy two 1-day tickets.
What do I do if I want more than 1 day at Tokyo Disneyland?Since multi-day tickets are unavailable, you’ll have to buy multiple 1-day tickets for now.
I live in Japan, and my credit card doesn’t work. What do I do?If your credit card doesn’t work, you can buy tickets from convenience stores like Family Mart, but you must be there at 6 AM when tickets go on sale a week in advance. Another option is to sign up for LINE Pay, use the VISA debit card (make sure you have a passcode setup), and buy through the Tokyo Disney Resort App (in Japanese) or the website.
Is there a Military Discount for Tokyo Disneyland tickets? There is no Military discount at Tokyo Disney Resort since the parks are owned and operated by Oriental Land Company, not Disney.
Is Tokyo Disney cheaper than Walt Disney World?A one-day ticket for Walt Disney World starts at $109 USD, while a ticket for Tokyo Disneyland is about $53 with the weak yen. Generally, the exchange in USD is cheaper per day at Tokyo Disney Resort.
Tickets for Tokyo Disney Resort are one of the more stressful aspects of visiting the parks, but our guide should have removed some of that stress for you.
