Toys entering the GCC market are required to comply with the GCC Technical Regulation on Children’s Toys (BD-131704-01). Compliant toys are required to display the GCC conformity quality mark, the G-Mark. This applies to all toys intended for use in play by children under 14 years of age.

We have Notified Bodies and laboratories approved by the GCC Standardization Organization (GSO) to test and certify toys against the legislative requirements to qualify for the G-Mark. What is the GCC certification process?

  1. The domestic manufacturer or importer applies to a Notified Body (such as SGS)
  2. Toys are tested to the GCC Technical Regulation on Children’s Toys (BD-13170-01) by an approved laboratory and certified by a Notified Body
  3. On successful completion of the toy assessment, the domestic manufacturer or importer will receive a certificate and place the G-Mark on the product and/or its packaging
