El Presidente E Well, I just happened to be playing with my ellipsoids, and I as actually look at the bulb, it says h7. I was always under the impression ellipsoids used h1 bulbs. H1 is what I ordered in my HID kit. Does anyone know if I can use an H1 bulb in an H7 assembly? I don't want to return it and pay restocking if I dont have to. #1 · Jan 10, 2004 Well, I just happened to be playing with my ellipsoids, and I as actually look at the bulb, it says h7. Sort by Oldest first Oldest first Newest first Most reactions #2 · Jan 10, 2004 I alway thought that they were suppose to use H1, well atleast thats what mine takes...but if H7 works and fits why not use it... #3 · Jan 10, 2004 I always thought it was H1 too.... Im going to take out my fogs in a little awhile and try to put them in the housing. I guess I'll find out then. #4 · Jan 10, 2004 Well now Im pissed. My housings clearly say H1 on them. But the projector is clearly designed for H7. I took out my fogs and instantly noticed the difference in size. The H1 bulb and base could almost fit in the slot for the H7 bulb. Hopefully I can exchange the parts. #5 · Jan 11, 2004 I got depo they are H1 what did you get. The marking should be on the corner of the glass. to retro fitt your H1 HID in your H7 socket is not so hard. #6 · Jan 11, 2004 I was under the inmpression that the ellipsoids were h7 amd fogs h1. #7 · Jan 12, 2004 Most euro I've seen were H1 never seen a H7!!! :wtf? #8 · Jan 12, 2004 I have depo as well. That is why Im confused. I took a pic of the housing, that clearly says 12V H1 55W. I'll post it up in just a sec. I was going to earlier but the digi died. I'll also snap one of the bulb and fitting. #9 · Jan 12, 2004 Housing, clearly marked H1 on the side.

#10 · Jan 12, 2004 the bulb, clearly marked h7. As for retrofitting the h1, I dont think I can. When I put my fog bulb in the projector, it made contact with the sheild inside.

#11 · Jan 12, 2004 Since DEPO are like knockoffs made in Taiwan etc. they prolly ran out of parts or H1 assemblys etc. and custom fitted those H7 housing to yours.....as far as I remember Majority of the Euros Bimma ellipsoid houses H1 bulbs..only... #12 · Jan 12, 2004 what made contact? your H1 stock or your H1 HID? did the housing come with that H7 bulb? #13 · Jan 13, 2004 my h1 fog made contact with the plate that cuts off the beam inside the projector. the housing came with the h7 bulbs.
