CorollaPants I've been looking at HID kits, and I see there are H11 and H11B bulb sizes. Can someone please explain the difference? The ones I am looking at only come in H11B in the color temp (6000k) that I want. #1 · Jul 16, 2018 I've been looking at HID kits, and I see there are H11 and H11B bulb sizes. Can someone please explain the difference? The ones I am looking at only come in H11B in the color temp (6000k) that I want. Sort by Oldest first Oldest first Newest first Most reactions #2 · Jul 16, 2018 The only real difference between H11 and H11B halogen bulbs is that the 'B' versions come with the connection pins/plug exposed (think like any regular old electrical plug you have on an appliance or electronic item in your house), while the 'regular H11' version has that connection enclosed inside a connector to hold the pins/wires in place. Some aftermarket HID vendors offer 'H11A' and 'H11B'-style bulbs, though, where the difference is the positioning of the return wire. H11A has the return wire at the 'bottom' of the locking ring, in between the two tabs that are the same shape/orientation. 'H11B' have the return wire at the 'top' of the ring, in the opposite positioning. This only really matters if you have an H11B-style housing, because the way the bulb ultimately sits after being inserted and rotated into place can cause a shadow with that wire if you go with the 'H11A' variety. For what it's worth, Toyotas typically use the 'H11A' variety of bulbs, and you can find aftermarket HID lighting kits in many places. We have H11 HID Kits on our site, for example, but while we have product listings for H11 and H11B (because our Vehicle Lighting Guide is built from an industry data source, and is intended to be a Reference Tool), all our H11 HID bulbs are of the 'A' variety, with the return wire on the 'bottom'. Hope this helps you out, ~Robert #3 · Jul 16, 2018
