Come join us in Canberra next Wednesday 9 July when our Chief Executive John Grimes speaks at the National Press Club of Australia. Venue: National Press Club, Canberra Date: Wednesday, 9 July 2025 Topic: Power Politics: The Political Power of Australia’s Renewable Energy Industry The 2025 federal election was a turning point – for the country, and for our industry. There was a brief, surreal point during the campaign when The Hon. Peter Dutton MP and John were in furious agreement – that renewable energy would be a defining issue of the election. He was right. For the first time, renewable energy wasn’t just a policy issue. It was a political force. And Australians showed just how powerful we are when we stand together. Next week, John is delivering a major address at the National Press Club of Australia in Canberra, unpacking what this moment means for us all. Come join us in the room. This is our opportunity to stand together, shoulder to shoulder, and show just how far this movement has come. Let’s make sure every seat is filled with someone who believes in a smart energy future. Limited space in the room. Get your tickets today 🎫: https://lnkd.in/gUpzt8uW

The Youth in Hydrogen (YH2) Networking Event at Smart Energy Expo 2025 was a huge success, full of energy, ideas, and inspiring conversations about the future of green hydrogen. Hosted by our Youth Ambassadors, Zoe Conlin-Williams and Emily Rozanc, the event brought together undergraduate students, PhD researchers, early-career professionals, and industry experts in an open and engaging environment. Attendees had the chance to connect, share stories, ask questions, and explore where their skills and interests could take them within the growing hydrogen and renewables sector. YH2 is all about building the future hydrogen workforce. It is focused on creating opportunities, sparking curiosity, and empowering the next generation of clean energy leaders. A huge thank you to everyone who attended and supported the event, including our team at Zero Carbon Hydrogen Australia and the Smart Energy Council. We are excited to keep growing this community. Stay tuned for more opportunities to connect, learn, and lead. #YouthInHydrogen #YH2 #SmartEnergy2025 #GreenHydrogen #SmartEnergyCouncil #ZeroCarbonHydrogenAustralia #FutureLeaders Emily Rozanc Zoe Conlin-Williams Charlie Caruso Joanna Kay Scott Hamilton Connor Price

Three years ago, the QUT (Queensland University of Technology) team – together with Pacific Energy – set out to prove what clean hydrogen could look like in the real world. Not just a concept or a roadmap, but a fully functioning, solar-powered, seawater-fed hydrogen system that could one day power cars, buses, and entire communities. Today, that vision is a reality. The H2Xport Pilot Plant at Redlands is now fully commissioned. And we couldn’t be prouder to see it recognised with this year’s Zero Carbon Hydrogen Award at the Smart Energy Council Excellence Awards & Gala Dinner. This project matters. Not because it’s large in size, but because it’s huge in significance. It uses solar energy to extract hydrogen from non-drinkable water sources like seawater, integrates battery storage, operates within a micro-grid, and even includes a portable refuelling station. It’s one of the clearest, most practical demonstrations we’ve seen yet of what zero carbon hydrogen infrastructure can look like in Australia. A massive thank you to everyone involved at QUT, Pacific Energy, and the broader hydrogen ecosystem. You've helped put a new pin on Australia's hydrogen map – and moved us all one step closer to a smarter, cleaner energy future. The QUT (Queensland University of Technology)’s award-winning H2Xport Pilot Plant is fully commissioned! The 50kW H2Xport Pilot Plant, located at the Redlands Research Facility, uses locally produced solar energy to extract hydrogen from non-drinkable water such as seawater. It includes battery storage, a micro-grid, hydrogen production and use, and has demonstrated a portable hydrogen refuelling station for hydrogen cars and buses. Our hydrogen team started work on this project with QUT three years ago, and they’re really pleased to see their work come to fruition. They were involved in designing and installing a significant part of this modular system, including a Nel Hydrogen electrolyser and PowerCell Group fuel cell. The project has just taken out the Zero Carbon Hydrogen award at this year’s Smart Energy Council Awards, which recognises the importance of this first-of-its-kind project! Congratulations to everyone involved! Learn more about this exciting #greenhydrogen project at https://lnkd.in/gMETYPJi

At the Smart Energy Council, we've always believed in meeting people where they are. And now, we're taking that quite literally. On July 8, we're bringing a new chapter of the Smart Energy Conference & Expo direct to Adelaide. Smart Energy South Australia is a distilled, one-day version of our flagship event, designed to make leading-edge energy insights, products, and policy conversations more accessible, affordable, and local. The industry's best suppliers, solutions, and speakers, will all be under one roof for one powerful day. We're not just bringing the content to you. We're bringing the national conversation to you. And we're doing it in South Australia for a reason. This state isn't just punching above its weight in smart energy – it's leading the charge. From big batteries and rooftop solar to green hydrogen ambitions, South Australia has shown Australia and the world what leadership looks like when it comes to smart energy. That leadership is being recognised on the global stage. If successful, Australia’s joint bid with the Pacific to host #COP31 will see Adelaide become the host city for the most important climate summit in the world. Prime Minister Anthony Albanese’s commitment to this vision today is a strong signal – and a call to action. Smart Energy South Australia is part of our response. We want to make sure that the energy industry here – the businesses, the tradies, the innovators and everyday South Australians – are front and centre in the lead-up to that global movement. This is your chance to connect with what's next, on your home turf. See you in Adelaide. July 8 2025. #SmartEnergy2025 #Adelaide #SouthAustralia
