Overview

Hallsville Quarter is a £600 million town centre in Canning Town, London E16. The development is part of the £3.7bn Canning Town and Custom House regeneration project, providing 1,100 new homes, over 323,000 sq ft (30,000 sq m) of leisure and retail space, and more than 32,000 sq ft (2,975 sq m) of space for community facilities, as well as new public spaces, pedestrian links, cyclist provision and 1,100 secure parking spaces. Phase 1 Residential 179 new homes of different tenures (94 apartments for private sale, 14 townhouses for private sale, 20 private shared ownership apartments and 51 affordable homes), comprising a mix of one, two and three-bed properties. 50 secure residential car parking spaces have been provided at the basement level. Phase 2 Residential 349 new homes (160 apartments for private sale, 55 affordable apartments, 134 private rented sector homes) comprising a mix of one, two and three-bed homes. 118 secure residential car parking spaces are at the basement level. Phase 3 The 278 private rental homes in Phase 3 was forward funded by Grainger and situated across two blocks; 143 shared ownership (or private sale units), 199 affordable homes including 50 extra-care apartments – the first in the London Borough of Newham – are owned and managed by One Housing Group. 88,049 sq ft (8,180 sq m) of retail and leisure space. The third phase delivered an integrated health centre under an innovative new model with local health partners, 12,109 sq ft (1,125 sq m) of business accommodation, 16,630 sq ft (1,545 sq m) of leisure space, a new basement car park for 143 vehicles, and new high-quality public spaces, including fountains and play areas. Student accommodation designed by PRP Architects. Phase 4 Phase 4 of the Hallsville Quarter will create a new home for students in London developed by Linkcity, with design by PRP Architects and interiors by Holloway Li. The scheme comprises 375 purpose-built student accommodation rooms and a range of market-leading student amenity spaces with a roof terrace and landscaped public realm. Bouygues UK is the main contractor and will take a low-carbon, sustainable approach targeting BREAAM Excellent.
