WARRANTY

HI 98127 and HI 98128 are warranted for oneyear against defects in workmanship and materialswhen used for their intended purpose and maintainedaccording to instructions. The electrode is war-ranted for a period of six months. This warranty islimited to repair or replacement free of charge.Damages due to accident, misuse, tampering or lackof prescribed maintenance are not covered.If service is required, contact the dealer from whomyou purchased the instrument. If under warranty,report the model number, date of purchase, serialnumber and the nature of the failure. If the repair isnot covered by the warranty, you will be notified ofthe charges incurred. If the instrument is to be re-turned to Hanna Instruments, first obtain a ReturnedGoods Authorization Number from the CustomerService department and then send it with shipmentcosts prepaid. When shipping any instrument, makesure it is properly packaged for complete protection.

Waterproof

Remove the instrument from the packing materialand examine it carefully. If any damage has occurredduring shipment, immediately notify your Dealer orthe nearest Hanna Customer Service Center.Each meter is supplied with:• HI 73127 pH electrode• HI 73128 Electrode removal tool• 4 x 1.5V batteries

Note: Conserve all packing material until the instru-

ment has been observed to function correctly.Any defective item must be returned in itsoriginal packing.

PRELIMINARY EXAMINATION

HI 98127 and HI 98128 are waterproof pH andtemperature meters. The housing has been completelysealed against humidity and designed to float.All pH readings are automatically temperature com-pensated (ATC), and temperature values can be displayedin °C or °F units.The meters can be calibrated at one or two points withauto-buffer recognition and against five memorizedbuffer values.Measurements are highly accurate with a unique sta-bility indicator right on the LCD.These meters are also provided with battery levelindication at start-up, and with a low battery symbolwhich warns the user when the batteries need to bereplaced. In addition the Battery Error PreventionSystem (BEPS) avoids erroneous reading caused by lowvoltage level by turning the meter off.The HI 73127 pH electrode, supplied with the meters,is interchangeable and can be easily replaced.The stainless steel encapsulated temperature sensor fa-cilitates faster and more accurate temperaturemeasurement and compensation.

Recommendations for UsersBefore using this product, make sure that it isentirely suitable for the environment in which it isused.The glass bulb at the end of the electrode is sensitiveto electrostatic discharges. Avoid touching the glassbulb at all times.Any variation introduced by the user to the suppliedequipment may degrade the instrument’s EMC per-formance.To avoid electrical shock, do not use this instrumentwhen voltages at the measurement surface exceed24 VAC or 60 VDC. To avoid damages or burns, donot perform any measurement in microwave ovens.
