A nation of investors. That’s what we’ve spent years campaigning for, and today we’re able to mark the next step in building a strong retail investment culture in the UK. From today, ordinary investors will be able to access more IPOs, secondary capital raises and corporate bonds. Building a retail investment culture means that the markets need to be open to retail investors. Today’s reforms are a step forward, but there’s more to be done. That's why we've published a new report which sets out what government, market participants and the London Stock Exchange can do next. More details in the comments.

We’re pleased to share that Matt Benchener will lead Hargreaves Lansdown through the next phase of our journey. With deep experience in building and leading a major retail investment offer in the United States, Matt has a natural understanding of client needs and how to develop and innovate to meet them. Matt will take over as CEO in July, with a period of handover from March. He and his family will relocate to the UK over the coming months. Richard Flint who stepped off the Board to become Interim CEO while recruitment took place will return to the Board in a new role as Deputy Chairman.
