All UH campuses statewide closed March 13, due to severe weather Updated 4:51pm HST 03/12/2026

All Hawai’i CC campuses (Manono, Pālamanui and Kō Education Center) will be closed tomorrow, Friday, March 13 due to severe weather expected to impact the state, including heavy rain, flash flooding, severe thunderstorms and high winds. In-person and online classes for these campuses are canceled. Instructors will contact students directly regarding assignments or coursework.

Saturdays apprenticeship programs and outdoor events are also cancelled.

Any additional updates shall be provided and posted at http://www.hawaii.edu/emergency or https://www.hawaii.hawaii.edu/security.

Students, faculty and staff are encouraged to sign up for mobile alerts through the UH RAVE Alert system to receive emergency notifications and important updates.

HAP DESIGNATION:

The Academic Senate initiated and oversees the HAP Committee, made up of faculty from various disciplines and student support services representation, which considers for approval courses appropriate for HAP designation for the AA degree.

HAWAIʻICC HAP MISSION:

  • To advocate for Hawaiian, Asian, and Pacific studies as integral to education at Hawaiʻi CC
  • To promote the development and adaptation of intersecting Asian and/or Pacific studies with Native Hawaiian studies
  • To satisfy transfer requirements for AA Liberal Arts degree and assist with increasing transfer to other UH system campuses
  • To strengthen and be in alignment with the UH system Hawaiʻi Papa o Ke Ao initiative and Hawaiʻi CC's Institutional Learning Outcome #3: Kōkua i ke kaiaulu, me ka 'ike a me ka mākau, a me ka mahalo ho'I i nā kānaka 'ōiwi a me nā mo'omeheu 'ōiwi o Hawai'i nei, a me nā mo'omeheu 'ē a'e o ka honua. (Apply knowledge and skills to make contributions to community that are respectful of the indigenous people and culture of Hawaiʻi island, as well as other cultures of the world.)
