COURSE DESCRIPTIONThe Helicopter Commercial Pilot License (CPL) Course will allow to obtain the license required to act as a PIC in commercial flight, perform aerial work in single and multi-engine helicopters.
The student must hold ah Helicopter Private Pilot License PPL prior to starting the Helicopter Commercial Pilot Course, and obtain the Robinson R44 type rating before the skill test for the CPL.

COURSE STRUCTURE- GROUND TRAINING
- FLIGHT TRAINING
The course is composed of 200 hours of ground school covering the following subjects:
- Air Law
- Meteorology
- Navigation
- Communications
- Human Performance
- Operational Procedures
- Flight Principles
- Aircraft Performance
- Aircraft General Knowledge
Students that have passed the theoretical knowledge exams of the Instrument Rating (IR) are exempt to take the Meteorology and Human Performance subjects.
Students that have passed all the ATPL theoretical exams are exempt to follow this theoretical course.
The flight training is composed of 35 flight hours, divided in three phases:
- Visual Flight: 20 flight hours in a Robinson R22 (including 5 hrs of cross-country flight)
- Night Flight: 5 flight hours in a Robinson R22
- Instrument Flight: 10 flight hours in a Robinson R22
The approximate duration of the course is 20 weeks, allowing the student to complete the ground school and flight training simultaneously.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTSApplicants must comply with the following:
- Being over 18 yo
- Being able to pass a Class I Pilot Medical Exam
- Being able to pass qualifying maths, physics and English exams at the FTO
- Have logged 155 hours of helicopter flying, of which 50 as PIC and 10 of cross-country flight.
