Designer_FF 6 years ago#1I have actually already beaten Xemnas and finished critical mode. But since I'm going to try the level 1 challenge soon I decided to unequip once more, leaf bracer and all of my armor and accessory(aside the ap ones) in order to get used to a higher level of difficulty. So now I'm trying to beat Xemnas again in order to unlock the Lingering Will fight and after that I'm going to try to beat both the LW and the data battles with that setup. My current level is 45, the same level that I was when I beat the game one week ago.For some reason though I'm failing to beat Xemnas again. I'll try to breakdown the things I'm having trouble with hoping that someone can help me with those. For the first stage of the fight:In this stage I'm kinda having trouble with finding an opening with Xemnas physical attacks, can you actually guard them all? Because whenever I tried to guard them it never worked, only reflect seems to work here, and as for reflect there is another issue, for some reason the reflect explosion never seems to stagger Xemnas, it has only happened with me like 3% of the times, which is really strange because I've seen youtubers manage to stagger him with reflect quite consistently, what's the catch? So the problem is that after I'm done with reflecting(I usually need two in order to go through his physical attacks), since he didn't stagger he always hit me with one of his ranged attacks and I'm dead, I'm also hopeless to evade them because of the cooldown of the reflect explosion. How am I supposed to deal with this? The only way that I found to deal with this is to just reflect spam through both his physical attack and ranged attack, I usually need four or five reflects for that but I really don't like that strategy because that is not reacting it's guessing, plus it's too unreliable. I really don't know of any other way of finding a safe opening though. Now for the second stage, the laser stage:This stage is hell, he starts to spam his laser combo non stop in an endless loop and there is just NO opening to attack him, the worst part is that part where he doubles himself and wait about four seconds to discharge his laser spam, yeah, I usually die at that part, I never seem to be abe to get the timing right and I'm dead if I'm hit. Even if I do manage to guard it though they will just loop the whole laser thing again, how am I supposed to combo him in this stage? There is just no opening!I guess that's it for now, if I remember anything else I'll post here, can someone help me with those?
FallenStar2565 6 years ago#2I can't say I've ever done a level 1 fight with him or taken off Once More or Second Chance, but in his first phase, when he goes into the long combo of attacks, if you guard like six times, you can then counter him and deal a lot of damage.I'm afraid I have no advice for the rest, though..Opinions are like skunks; some smell worse than others.I do not wish to stink up the joint, thus, I want to keep my opinions to myself.

What kind of combo of attacks do you mean? I believe he has three in the first phase. Can you acutally guard them all and counterattack? And thanks.
FallenStar2565 6 years ago#4If you see him coming toward you with a constant combo - like three attacks in a row and not guarding or just doing a quick slash or two, then you can guard it up to like six times, I believe and then counter him.I've got no advice for his own guard or for when he does his two "quick" slashes..Opinions are like skunks; some smell worse than others.I do not wish to stink up the joint, thus, I want to keep my opinions to myself.

dabestgamerYT 6 years ago#6Try and get Grand Ribbon + 3 Ribbons. They will do wonders for you, even on LV1, since they buff all of your resistances.(You will be able to take more hits on LV1 base stats with this armor equipped than you would as LV99 Sora also with no stat boosts but no armor, just to give a really easy example.)If not on your LV45 file, then I would highly recommend doing so on your LV1 file when you reach postgame. You can't beat me! RedDragonMaster 6 years ago#7You can do what I did on my level 1 run and just spam elixirs and session limits. Might be better to learn how to fight him normal though since you might have issues with the data version. heres a link to my run of the final gauntlet. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ftAiJZqlL4QFC: 2878-9699-0140

Designer_FF (Topic Creator)6 years ago#9I beat him! I watched a bloodybiskitz video where he used that same strategy that I was talking about of spamming reflect through both his melee attack and ranged attack and then counterattacking, turned out it wasn't a bad strategy after all, I managed to wreck Xemnas first phase with that, I'm kinda proud that I thought that out on my own lol.For the laser phase I tried reflecting his lasers instead of guarding and it worked wonders as I did a lot of extra damage with that, as for the clone laser attack I discovered that I could just glide around safely until it ended. One thing I'm not sure yet though, is there a set number of times he can do his laser attacks before he grabs Sora? For the rest of the battle I admit that I didn't take any chances and just spammed limit though, I finally beat him though! Level 45 no equips/power ups (besides AP ones) critical mode!dabestgamerYT posted...

How is it possible that level 1 Sora with the ribbons can take more hits than a level 99 Sora without equips? I mean don't 98 levels make a huge difference in stats?I don't really want to use equipments now on my level 45 file because I want to get used to low stats, but I'll consider that when I reach the postgame in my future level 1 run.I wonder how harder a level 1 run would be than a level 45 without equips?RedDragonMaster posted...

Thanks for the video, I ended up spamming limit at the end but yeah, I think learning to fight properly is important too.TalesOfNoob posted...
As far as I know, you can only guard the spin kicks and lasers. If Xemnas can be staggered, the Reflect explosion should stagger him. He can be staggered after the vine attack (wait a bit) and the orb attack, either of which he'll use if you stay close to him after his other attacks. When he's summoning lasers, a good way to damage him is to Reflect the lasers. It seems like there's only a small window of opportunity to stagger him after he fires lasers with a clone. You can go through the Riku sequence to have him use his first phase attacks again, with some differences. From what I've seen, he doesn't use the vines or the orbs after the other attacks, instead using the vines at a distance and not using the orbs at all(?). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fBvracklqsM
Thanks for the video, guarding his lasers with reflect turned out great and it's good to know that there's a little interval of time where you can combo him after he is invincible after the clone attack.

Because the resistance part of the armor reduces damage by percentage. This is why, as I said, if we assume that no stat boosts are used, a LV1 Sora with a Grand Ribbon and 3 Ribbons will be able to take more hits (even if it is only a few) than a LV99 Sora with no armor equipped. The armor that I described reduce the damage taken by a lot. It isn't about the Defense stat they add, it's about the Resistance they give. Here's a video that Bizkit047 did that demonstrates this:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3uwwXafoeWAI've also tested LV99 Sora with no stat boosts and no armor on Critical against Data Org and LW. You get one-shotted by almost everything they do.Armor matters (especially Grand Ribbon + 3 Ribbons--or 4 Shock Charm+ if you're fighting Larxene). A lot.You can't beat me! I AM DABESTGAMER!!!
