narlow18 N hi there, alternator has gone on my K reg(1992) suzuki vitara, its the 1.6 8 valve. my mate has sold me a alternator but its off a 16 valve engine. Will it fit on to mine engine?? cheers for help

Sort by Oldest first Oldest first Newest first Most reactions #2 · Dec 13, 2011 I can't say with 100% certainty, but I think the only difference is in the depth of the mounting bracket... so yes, I believe should fit. #3 · Dec 13, 2011 Maybe, if both alternators are designed to work with the same type of belt, the 8V may be a V belt and the 16V is most likely to be a flat belt. Check the plugs as well, I think there are differences between Spanish built models and Japanese built models. Insert Quotes Post Reply
