New LSC students are required to submit documentation of high school completion or its equivalent. For most students this means their official high school transcript is issued to LSC after graduation OR their General Education Development (GED)/Certificate of High School Equivalency (CHSE)/High School Equivalency Program (HSEP) score report. A high school diploma cannot be used as an alternative to the high school transcript or GED/CHSE/HSEP score report.
Students who have not completed high school, home school or a GED, or who have completed their high school credential but are unable to provide the required official documentation, may request to be admitted to LSC through the Individual Admission process. This process consists of a review of the student’s ability to successfully complete college-level coursework in the absence of official documentation showing completion of high school, home school or a GED. If a student is approved for Individual Admission, they may not be eligible to receive financial aid. After submitting an application through ApplyTexas, students may request to be reviewed for Individual Admission by contacting Student Services at their home campus.
Note: Students are also required to submit official transcripts from all colleges or universities previously attended. Students who submit a college transcript with 1 or more successfully completed college level course will have their high school transcript requirement waived. For more information, see Transfer to LSC.
High School Graduates (US and territories) & GED/CHSE/HSEP Holders
Students should contact the high school they graduated from to request their transcript be sent electronically. Students who graduated from a public high school in Texas should request their high school send their official transcript through the Texas Records Exchange (TREx) system. This is the fastest way to satisfy the high school transcript requirement. Official PDF's for out-of-state GED/CHSE/HSEP score reports must be sent directly from the state department of education to LSC via email.

High School Graduates (Outside the US and territories)
Students who currently hold an F-1 visa or are applying for an F-1 visa through Lone Star College will find their requirements here: https://www.lonestar.edu/international-transcripts.htm
Students who are not F-1 holders or F-1 applicants, may meet this requirement through any one of the processes below:
1. Proof of High School Completion using High School Documents: All high school completion documents from institutions not located in the US or territories, must be submitted for equivalency evaluation to any member organization of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES) or the Association of International Credit Evaluators (AICE). LSC recommends a document-by-document evaluation showing equivalency in terms of the US education system including a GPA conversion. We suggest the evaluator attach the evaluated document to the official evaluation. Exemptions to the equivalency evaluation requirement: students who have graduated from a U.S. Department of State-Assisted High School, The International Baccalaureate High School Diploma Programme, or a high school accredited by a Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) recognized accrediting body.
2. Proof of High School Completion using College-level Coursework: Applicants who listed previous college attendance on their admissions application are required to submit official transcripts from all institutions attended. Students can satisfy this requirement by submitting:
- Professional Evaluation of Foreign College Transcripts: Transcripts may be submitted for evaluation to any member organization of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES) or the Association of International Credit Evaluators (AICE). The evaluation must verify U.S. undergraduate coursework equivalency. If using a college credential to satisfy the high school completion requirement, the evaluation should show successful completion of at least one course, and should list the degree that was pursued and/or completion of a degree.
- Proof of College-Level Coursework Completion in the U.S: Students can submit an official transcript from an accredited U.S. institution to satisfy this requirement. If using an official college transcript to satisfy the high school completion requirement, the transcript should show successful completion of at least one course, and should list the degree that was pursued and/or completion of a degree.
Students Seeking to Transfer College/University Credits from Outside of the U.S.
Students who have earned college/university credits outside the U.S. and wish to transfer their credits to LSC must submit a course-by-course evaluation by one of the following organizations:
- American Association for Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (AACRAO) International Education Services (evaluation requests submitted to AACRAO on or before August 15, 2016)
- An evaluation service that maintains current membership in the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services Inc. (NACES) or
- Any evaluation service which is a member of the Association of International Credentials Evaluators (AICE).
Submitting Official Transcripts/Evaluations
For a transcript/credential evaluation to be considered official, it must meet one of the following criteria:
- Mailed from issuing institution or evaluation agency directly to Lone Star College at: Lone Star College Student Records 20515 SH 249 - UP1104 Houston, Texas 77070
- Brought in-person, in a sealed envelope to any LSC campus Admissions Office
- Emailed from the issuing institution/evaluation company directly to Registrar@Lonestar.edu
Notes:
- Evaluations/transcripts submitted to LSC to satisfy the high school completion/college-level work requirement are for LSC admission purposes only. LSC is not responsible if transfer universities have different or additional requirements.
- Evaluations submitted to LSC become LSC property and will not be released to the student, other institutions or third parties.
