About us

HCME is a subsidiary of Hitachi Construction Machinery Co., Ltd. and was established in 1972 in Oosterhout, The Netherlands. It is responsible for the manufacture, sales and marketing of Hitachi construction equipment throughout Europe. Hitachi produces the widest range of hydraulic excavators in the world, ranging from one-tonne minis to 800-tonne ultra-large mining excavators. Every single model delivers a smooth and productive performance, and is comfortable, safe and reliable. In addition to excavators, HCME also supplies wheel loaders, rigid dump trucks, crawler cranes and other equipment for special applications. HCME has three manufacturing plants in The Netherlands: a medium excavator and wheel loader factory in Amsterdam; and a mini excavator factory and special application factory, both located in Oosterhout. The Hitachi European Parts Centre is also located in Oosterhout. Successful operations at its European factories are allowing HCME to fulfil its business strategy and increase market share in each of its key markets. Hitachi’s mission to ‘think global, act local’ is reflected in its focus on customer needs and the Hitachi brand values associated with innovation and technology.

  Supplied by authorised German dealer, Kiesel GmbH , the machines are being used on the site of a former airfield, which is being redeveloped into a large logistics centre for businesses including Zalando and UPS. Family-run civil engineering company Reuscher Tiefbau GmbH is responsible for the excavation, sewer installation, compaction and the recycling of excavated material on site.

The project requires careful planning, precise excavation, and dependable performance within short operating windows. Supplied by local dealer Salomoni srl, the ZX350LC-7 is playing a central role in meeting programme demands while working within strict environmental controls.   A customer in France has taken delivery of a 200-tonne front-shovel Hitachi excavator – the first of its kind in Europe. The machine arrived on site last autumn following assembly and commissioning by authorised dealer Teramat.
