Community Homes Tees Valley is an Enabler Hub, supported by Power to Change funding and set up to provide support, advice and guidance to help you as individuals and local groups, to create affordable housing that meets your needs and aspirations for your community.

We are Committed to enabling Sustainable, Affordable and Genuine Community Led Housing in the Tees Valley Area for our Community. We cover Darlington, Hartlepool, Middlesbrough, Redcar and Cleveland, Stockton-on-Tees and their surrounding areas.

Community led housing

Community led housing is where local people join together to look at housing issues in their local area. Simply put, housing provided for the community by the community without compromise; not housing provided by a private developer for profit or local government in order to meet a housing need. You decide what you deserve.

Once you have identified what is needed; for example, there aren’t

enough starter homes for people to buy, there are too many empty properties or that there aren’t enough affordable homes to rent, we guide you through the process of accessing funding, acquiring the land/property, building the homes you need and managing the properties in the future.

The Hub

The Hub will help you to get the support you need to set up your community led housing project, build new homes or refurbish orconvert existing buildings. There are a range of ways we can help you through all the steps you need to make your housing project happen. This includes peer support, technical support, links with specialist services and advice on shared best practice.
