Volunteer Spotlight!

Alix Cadell

Alix is working on her undergraduate degree in Social Work at TXST, and chose HCWC as her required summer volunteer placement. Alix went above and beyond during her time with HCWC, obtaining not only her required 50 hours, but totaling over 80 hours in just 2 months. She attended HCWC’s OAG Certified Advocate Training, helped weekly with an ongoing file project, and also jumped in to help with prevention education, childcare, and other administrative tasks. Alix was responsible, hard-working, compassionate, and eager to learn. We loved having her at the agency every week!

“I highly recommend HCWC for your volunteering pursuits because they are a 10/10 for the living practice of ethical values and workplace culture. I got to contribute to real progress protecting the needs and rights of survivors and experience what a truly impactful nonprofit can be.” – Alix
