Who Saves Who?

Mutual Rescue is Humane Society Silicon Valley’s national initiative to share powerful stories, create engaging programs, and build strong partnerships that benefit shelters across the country. Our latest film, The Love Is Mutual, highlights our belief that when a person adopts an animal, a bond is formed that creates connection and love that fundamentally transforms animals, their people, and their communities.

Humane Society Silicon Valley is the world’s first model shelter to meet the 543 Guidelines for the Standards of Care in Animal Shelters put forth by the Association of Shelter Veterinarians in 2010. HSSV is also the first animal community center in the nation to receive Gold LEED certification from the U.S. Green Building Council.
