Honda CB500X Latest Updates

Honda has unveiled the NX500 at EICMA 2023 and it will replace the CB500X in Honda’s lineup from 2024 onwards.

The Honda NX500 gets a new headlight and front fairing design compared to the CB500X, is lighter by 3kg and gets a new 5-inch TFT instrument console along with a new switchgear.

Honda CB500X Price:

The Honda CB500X is currently no longer available on the official website, and its price before was Rs 5,79,952 (ex-showroom, Gurugram). The CB500X was available in two colours: Grand Prix Red and Matt Gunpowder Black Metallic.

Honda CB500X Features:

The Honda CB500X is compact, thus presenting a more friendly demeanour than other middleweight ADVs in the market. It gets a front beak like most adventure bikes along with, LED lighting all around, a full-digital instrument console with gear position and gear shift indicator, a tall windscreen, and dual-channel ABS. Enhancing its safety is Honda's smart ESS (Emergency Stop Signal) system which detects sudden braking and automatically activates the hazard lights. Besides, the CB500X also gets the Honda Ignition Security System (HISS) that automatically disables engine ignition via electronic control unit.

Honda CB500X Engine:

The CB500X is powered by a 471cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin motor that produces 47PS and 43Nm. This motor is paired to a six-speed transmission, which also gets a slip-and-assist clutch. The engine performance may sound a bit dull, however, the motor puts down power in a linear and stress-free manner, which makes it ideal for touring.

Honda CB500X Suspension & Brakes:

The CB500X is underpinned by a long-travel telescopic fork adjustable for preload and a nine-step preload-adjustable monoshock. It rolls on 19 and 17-inch front and rear cast aluminium alloy wheels, wrapped with 110- and 160-section tyres. Braking is via a single 310mm front and a 240mm rear petal disc brake with dual-channel ABS as standard. It gets a 17. 7-litre fuel tank and a seat height of 830mm.

Honda CB500X Rivals:

The CB500X competes against the likes of the Kawasaki Versys 650 and the Benelli TRK 502. You could also take a look at the KTM 390 Adventure which offers a similar riding experience at a much more affordable price point.
