Honda is reportedly developing a new CB900R motorcycle that will be based on the CB1100R concept bike and will be most likely making its debut at the 2015 Tokyo Motor Show Honda CB1100R Concept

According to Japan based Young Machine, Honda is working on a new motorcycle which will be christened CB900R. The upcoming bike will be based on the CB1100R concept that was showcased at the 2007 Tokyo Motor Show. When the Honda CB1100R concept was unveiled it created a lot of curiosity among two-wheeler enthusiasts. But the Japanese two-wheeler giant shelved plans of producing the bike despite many rumours owing to an economic slowdown that made sales slump in Japan.

The styling of the new bike will be based on the CB1100R concept motorcycle. It will feature twin headlamps concealed in a bulbous quarter fairing to give the bike an air of retro. The move from Honda doesn’t come as a surprise as all the major manufacturers are adding a retro styled motorcycle as Ducati rode in the Scrambler while Yamaha showcased the Bolt cafe racer. Powering the Honda CB900R will be a 900cc powerplant that will be based on the 1,140cc motor as seen on the Honda CB110. The engine will have its displacement reduced to make it a high-revving mill like most of the Honda litre-class motor. Details on the bike is scarce but Young Machine have been mostly spot on with their predictions and it is expected that the new Honda CB900R might debut at the 2015 Tokyo Motor Show in October, 2015.
