How Many Episodes Of Viewpoint Are There? When ITV Drama Series ...

Manchester-based series Viewpoint kicked of this week on ITV.

The “claustrophobic thriller” features an all-star cast and tells the story of a detective surveilling a seemingly close community after a school teacher disappears.

But how many episodes are there, what can we expect from it and and who is in the cast?

Here’s everything you need to know.

What is it about?

Viewpoint follows a police investigation after a primary school teacher goes missing.

It focuses on a detective (Noel Clarke) observing the goings-on of a tight-knit Manchester neighbourhood from inside a local woman’s house (Alexandra Roach), which happens to offer an excellent viewpoint from its windows.

ITV said the show is “as much about friendship, trust and community as it is about solving a crime”, adding that it explores “the secrets and horrors that thrive behind closed doors”.

Lucy Bedford, the head of drama at Tiger Aspect Productions and the executive producer, describes the show as a “compelling, tense, claustrophobic thriller that turns the spotlight on the observer rather than the observed”.

It was the first ITV drama to begin filming since all UK productions went into lockdown due to Covid-19, according to ITV, with filming taking place around Manchester and at Space Studios.

What have reviewers said?

i TV Editor Emily Baker said: “There were signs, early on, that both of our main characters were more complex than they appeared.

“In her spare time, Zoe spied on her neighbours, while Martin was harbouring guilt about spending so much time at work instead of with his son.

“The suggestion of a romantic frisson between the two added even more depth.”
