Just contact one of the companies or local guys that makes them and I'm sure they'll work with you on a design/material. #3 · May 28, 2014 (Edited) I could definitely do them myself, but I'm not gonna take the time to create the template and I don't think they'd be willing to give me their file. I've got a graphtec ce6000-40 that I use about every other day for work. I could probably order like a black one and take a picture of it and then trace it in illustrator, then all I would have to do is pretty much just get the scale right. You could pretty much have it made however you want though. There's tons of different vinyls out there, and if you find someone who can do things a little more technical they should be able to basically print out whatever design you have onto the vinyl and then cut it out as a badge insert. I'm guessing that's how they make the german flag and the sticker bomb inserts. #5 · May 28, 2014 so if i sent you the design i wanted you could mock somthin up? Show more replies 0 Reply #4 · May 28, 2014 I'm sure you could also contact a design studio, create your own template, give them the specifications and they can do it short notice without charging too much. There usually are order minimums (like qty of 10 or 20). Let me know what you end up deciding, I'd love to see the finished product!! Keep Dubbing #6 · May 28, 2014 If you have Illustrator then it should be easy. Measure how big the emblem is, set the document/art board size to that size square (or snap in guides from the rulers), take a picture of the notches needed, and convert to path in the Illustrator document or in Photoshop. After that it's just figuring out what you want on the vinyl. I could probably have the wife mock you something up for a small fee since she does graphic design. PM me if you wanna run that route. #8 · May 29, 2014 If you can get a file to the right scale I can cut it in whatever vinyl you want. #9 · May 31, 2014 klii has a 3m vinyl printer and they have the plotter setup for mk6 rear badges and steering wheel badges. just send them an email, they will make you something if you ask. I've had them do one off orders before. #10 · Jun 2, 2014 I think it would be easy to do, as long as yon can order a small piece, remove the vw part of the emblem, cut to fit over the backing, cut holes for clips on vw part, and pop it back in #11 · Jun 2, 2014 You don't need to cut anything before hand... Pop off the rear emblem, lay down whatever vinyl or whatever it is you want on the circle, and carfully trim away the 'holes' and 'clips' and whatnot. You can probably just line up the emblem and press it down - not enough to actually clip in - and then see the indents where you need to cut... There's a ton of wiggle roon since the emblem covers so much. Insert Quotes Post Reply
