Apple M1 is a 3.2 GHz 8-core processor.

Apple doesn’t particularly expose the clock speed on Apple silicon configurations.

Clock speed comparisons tend toward specious across anything other than the same processor, and processor speeds are but one factor in a component system where the slowest component sets the maximum system speed, as you’re likely well aware.

  • Amazon - M1 CPU speed spec for Mac Mini correct? I'm interested in buying an M1 Mac mini with 16GB memory in Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/Apple-Mini-Chip-256GB-Storage/dp/B08TDNXTVK However, CPU speed is listed as "1.00", with no units. I expected a rating in GHz. Is that a typo? Or a "normalization" to other baseline? I already asked on Amazon (got no answer) and searched similar 16GB models, but can't find the CPU speed listed in GHz. Also note that searching for the 8 GB model shows the correct speed rating (3.2GHz). Not so for the 16GB one. Thanks. 1229 11
  • Is my Macbook M1 Max faulty? Processor speed showing 3.13Ghz NOT 3.2Ghz I've been using my machine for a few days and noticed its a bit more sluggish than i would have expected. So i was curious what the specs of MY machine were. I am running Geekbench 5 and it reports my system as having processor :- Apple M1 Max @ 3.13Ghz Are there any other cpu tools i can check to validate this number? I feel like i got a binned low end M1 chip if it can't reach 3.2Ghz. This is quite dissapointing for such an expensive laptop. HELP. 497 1

Apple has never indicated that, nor particularly indicated the clock speed, and has removed clock speed displays.

Third-party investigations imply that all eight cores run at 3.2 GHz, available cooling permitting. No boost.

Like all other modern processors, M1 will throttle as thermal limits are reached.

Hey there little_magicianer,

Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities. We understand you’d like to view how many gigahertz are running on your Mac. We’ll be happy to help.

You may not be able to view this specific unit but you can use Activity Monitor to look at how much energy your Mac is using. Here’s a link to the User Guide:

Take care.
