Hi I inherited a Hp Pavilion G6 which was running Windows 8 but sadly the hard disk died. I installed a new SSD drive and installed Windows 7 Pro 64 bit as I no longer had any of the original disks that came with the machine and I prefered this OS. The sticker which was once on the machine with the Windows licence and serial number of the laptop has also gone so I don't know the extact version of the laptop but it was bought shortly before 2014.
I have Windows 7 now installed and it is showing warning exclamation marks against Ethernet Controller, Network Controller, PCI Device, PCI Simple Communication Controller, SM Bus Controller, USB Controller and Unknown Device. All devices need the driver installed but don't provide any further information about them. I have no access to the internet AT ALL. I am using another laptop to connect. I tried installing HP Support Solutions Framework and some drivers for pavilion G6 but I they weren't the correct drivers and didn't appear to do anything. Most of the links on line wants to install a driver manager rather than the driver and then want to connect to the internet during install. One at least did tell me my Network Card is a RAS Async Adapter.
I can't seem to get this driver on line without ending up with a package which wants to connect to the internet first. Can you help me? Other details identified about the laptop include Intel Core i3 3110M [email protected], Motherboard is Ivy Bridge.

Hi, @LorettaN
I can tell from the information you posted that your notebook is a g6-2200 or 2300 Intel model series.
These should be the links to most of the drivers you need...download them from another PC, copy them to a USB flash drive and plug the flash drive into your notebook's USB 2 port.
SM Bus Controller: Install this driver first and restart the PC

Ethernet Controller:

PCI Simple Communication Controller:

Unknown Device:

That leaves the Network Controller, but I need more information from you regarding that device, because there can be more than one model wifi adapter HP could have installed in your PC.
Please post the Hardware ID for the Network Controller device, and then I will post the link to the driver you need for it.

If it came with Windows 8 there was never a Key Code sticker the credentials are embedded in the BIOS. Without the full model number we can only guess at your specific hardware, particularly the wireless card which is likely one of the first things you need to get working. Do you know how the find the Device IDs for the problem devices?

If you will post those IDs here we can find you the drivers you need.

Thank you ever so much for these. I had to restart most times or it told me they didn't install properly. I only have the network device left.
The hardware ID is PCI/VEN_1814&DEV_539B&SUBSYS_18ED103C&_REV_00
Are you able to provide the hp link for this final step?
Brilliant - almost got it back.

You're very welcome.
You need this driver for that model wifi card...
This package contains the driver installation package for the Ralink wireless LAN Controllers in the supported notebook models running a supported operating system.
