Traditionally, the 14-inch HP Pavilion 14 series has always been about portability with lean Core U-series performance at affordable prices. For 2022, HP will be offering new options to boost performance even more by introducing 12th gen Alder Lake Core-H processors and even a discrete GeForce RTX 2050 GPU all inside the same chassis that we're already familiar with. Called the Pavilion Plus 14, the model should cater to users who want something more powerful than the regular Pavilion 14 without giving up its portable form factor.

Beyond the CPU and GPU update, the Pavilion Plus 14 can also be configured with a 16:10 2.8K OLED panel. This will likely be the same panel that Asus utilizes for many of its 14-inch Zenbook models.

Users who may prefer a more traditional Core U-series Pavilion 14 have not been forgotten. The Core H-series CPU, discrete GPU, and OLED panels above mentioned are all optional meaning users can still configure with less expensive 12th gen Core-U CPUs instead such as the Core i5-1235U up to the Core i5-1240P. A lower-end 2.2K IPS panel will also be available as detailed by the official specifications sheet below.

HP says the Pavilion Plus 14 will begin shipping on May 25 starting at $799 on Amazon, Walmart, HP.com, and other US retailers.
