QC is like a big package consisting: Test Director, QTP, WinRunner and bunch of other features to give the cross functional teams (QA, Devs, Business Analysts etc.) involved in the QA process a common platform to collaborate their efforts. While TD alone is a Test management tool we all know about. :)
