These charts show HTML and Unicodes for a variety of asterisks. For similar shapes, see our code charts for Stars and Flowers.

ALT codes, CSS codes, and Hex codes can all be determined quickly via the codes listed below. For example:

► ALT codes: use the number portion of the HTML code (e.g. ALT+10026). Turn on Num Lock and press the ALT key before typing the number on the keypad.

► HEX Codes: use the number portion of the Unicode preceded by &#x (e.g. ✪).

► CSS Codes: use the number portion of the Unicode preceded by a left-leaning slash. For example: li {list-style-type:"\272A";}

Most ALT codes worked when we tested them in our versions of Microsoft Word using the Segoe UL Symbol font. If a particular ALT code doesn't work in your application, try a different font. The image below the code table show what the ALT codes looked like in Word.
