Apr 3, 2018 14 0 10 Hi, I'm having the specified Wi-Fi router that was given to me from my network provider( RDS & RCS or DIGI Romania) and I'm having some issues let's say. First I've read through the forums from everywhere they said that "You can't change an ONT Router because this and this", is it true? And if yes why? I can't change it like a normal Wi-Fi router that can be changed without any problems? The second thing is that I'm having packet loss and 300-4000 PING from a distance where i had an maximum of 90 and no packet loss. Can be some interferrence's or ISP problems? Help me, please. If the wifi has issues it in general is not just the router causing the problem. In general the wifi performance of a ISP device will be similar to most other router that use the same wifi chipsets. No router manufactures actually make wifi chips the all buy them from companies like broadcom. Wifi problem are mostly caused by something in your house interfering. Your only real solution is to try a different radio channel. If you really feel you need to replace the ISP device because of wifi you can likely just disable the wifi and then use a different AP or router running as a AP and plug it into the ISP router. This will in effect just replace the wifi radios in the ISP box. Upvote 0 Downvote A

Aug 9, 2012 30,328 3,514 143,640 The ISP may not allow the device to be run as a bridge. From the information I can find on that device it has phone ports it might also be used to provide cable tv. Most ISP will not bridge a device that has phone ports since it would disable them. This is more of a ISP question.....I have seen these devices where the manual says you can do something but the ISP has loaded custom firmware and removed those options. Upvote 0 Downvote A

That's sad because i wanted to connect TP-LINK Gigabit Archer C2 Dual-Band 3 Antennas to him to see if i can do something about. Of course to make have a good range of my internet in my appartment and to lower the packet loss and the ping a bit. Upvote 0 Downvote B
