XP 2 Super Factsheet (Englisch) Light sensitivity / film speed: ISO 400/27°. Highly sensitive monochrome colour film for B/W photos. This film is not a "real" B/W film with a classic B/W emulsion, but an emulsion that generates grey values from dyes. The XP2 Super is therefore developed in the C41 colour negative process and can therefore also be delivered for development in any Minilab ('1-Hour Photo').The film is characterised by a very fine grain and very good resolution for its high sensitivity. The sharpness performance is also very good. In terms of grain, sharpness and resolution, it outperforms ISO 400/27° films with a conventional crystal structure such as HP5+, Kentmere 400, Fomapan 400, Tri-X etc.. It also has a very wide exposure latitude. The film can be exposed in the range from Exposure Index (E.I.) 50/18° to 800/30° without having to adjust the development time of the film.This makes XP2 Super the perfect film for old cameras with less accurate light meters, for cameras without light meters ("Sunny f16 Rule") and for beginners in film photography.Another of the film's strengths is its excellent highlight detail and its ability to cope with high subject contrasts.The XP2 Super 400 delivers the best performance in terms of sharpness and resolution with an exposure in the E.I. range of 250/25° to 400/27°.Ilford XP2 Super 400 is the perfect B&W film for street photography, sports, action, reportage and all shooting situations where maximum flexibility in exposure is required.It is also a very suitable replacement for the Kodak BW 400 CN, which was discontinued a few years ago.
