Intel B460 For Comet Lake-S And H510 For Rocket ... - HardwarEsfera

Intel is slated to release Comet Lake-S processors under the 14nm lithograph sometime this year. Everything suggested that the company would present these processors at CES 2020 in Las Vegas, but it has not been. Now the B460 chipset intended for Comet Lake-S processors and the H510 chipset for Rocket Lake-S processors have been revealed.

Curiously, the motherboards for the Comet Lake-S support the PCIe 4.0 interface. Intel processors do not support this interface because an external clock had to be installed. It seems that they have preferred not to support this interface, although Rocket Lake-S could offer support for PCIe 4.0.

Let's start with the one that interests us, with the chipset that will be launched this year for the new processors. It has been seen in SiSoft Sandra along with the Intel Core i9-10900 processor. This processor is a version with lower frequencies than the 'K' model, working this model tested at a frequency of 2.8GHz.

It has been seen with the MEDION B460H6-EM motherboard, which we see refers to the chipset. This chipset should hit the market alongside the new Intel processors, which could be launched in the summer.

The H510 is intended for the Rocket Lake-S processors that will arrive possibly in 2021 and also under 14nm. On these second processors there is not much data, but it is speculated that if they would support PCIe 4.0.

Regarding the H510 chipset, we do not know anything, only that it has been leaked on a Gigabyte ATX motherboard by part of 'momomo'. Their leaks are usually correct and in this case there is no loss either, because Intel does not plan to change the nomenclature of its chipset.

Now it only remains to know when Intel will decide to present and launch the Comet Lake-S
