Coffee Lake-H / Core i5 Report an Error Intel Core i5-8400H 4 Cores 8 Threads 45 W TDP 2.5 GHz Frequency 4.1 GHz Boost Coffee Lake-H Codename BGA 1440 Socket Connectivity Connectivity Intel BGA 1440 Intel BGA 1440 The Intel Core i5-8400H was a mobile processor with 4 cores, launched in April 2018. It is part of the Core i5 lineup, using the Coffee Lake-H architecture with BGA 1440. Thanks to Intel Hyper-Threading the core-count is effectively doubled, to 8 threads. Core i5-8400H has 12 MB of L3 cache and operates at 2.5 GHz by default, but can boost up to 4.1 GHz, depending on the workload. Intel is building the Core i5-8400H on a 14 nm production process, the transistor count is unknown. The multiplier is locked on Core i5-8400H, which limits its overclocking capabilities. With a TDP of 45 W, the Core i5-8400H consumes typical power levels for a modern PC. Intel's processor supports DDR4 memory. This processor features the UHD 630 integrated graphics solution. Hardware virtualization is available on the Core i5-8400H, which greatly improves virtual machine performance. Additionally, IOMMU virtualization (PCI passthrough) is supported, so that guest virtual machines may directly use host hardware. Programs using Advanced Vector Extensions (AVX) will run on this processor, boosting performance for calculation-heavy applications. Besides AVX, Intel is including the newer AVX2 standard, too, but not AVX-512. Physical
