Monday, March 26th 2018 Intel H370 and H310 Chipset Motherboards Hit Shelves in Thailand by btarunr Mar 26th, 2018 09:07 Discuss (9 Comments) Ahead of their launch, motherboards based on Intel's cheaper H370 Express and H310 Express chipsets, hit the shelves in brick-and-mortar PC hardware stores in Thailand. Numerous pictures of ASRock-branded H370 and H310 motherboard models, namely the H370 Pro4, and the H310-HDV; GIGABYTE-branded Aorus H370 Gaming 3, and ASUS Prime H370-A, were posted to social media by PC buyers. Between March-April, Intel plans to launch cheaper H370 Express, B360 Express, and H310 Express chipsets, alongside newer Core i3 and Core i5 "Coffee Lake" quad-core and six-core SKUs; besides Pentium Gold and Celeron dual-core chips based on the silicon. The cheaper motherboards are expected to bring down the overall platform costs of 8th generation Core processors, which now require you to front over $100 on motherboards based on the expensive Z370 chipset. As with several generations of Intel chipset before it, cheaper chipsets lose out on key features such as CPU overclocking and NVIDIA SLI support. Source: Expreview

#1 It's about time. Does it seem like these lesser chipsets were delayed more than usual, or is that perception caused by Intel rushing it's flagship CPUs and chipsets, in response to Ryzen? #2 I think Coffee Lake was rushed to save face on Kaby Lake/Skylake/"insert 2% perf. gain incremental generation here" after Ryzen's launch, Ryzen was rushed as well. Anyway, since these are going to be used on locked processors and SLI is as dead as Windows RT, I don't see any downsides on these lower chipsets. I hope they add basic RAID 0/1 and more than 4 usb ports this time on the lower end H310, even an old Nforce 7025 AM3+ motherboard has more features than recent lower end Intel chipsets. #3 I think RAID will not be on the B360 or H310 chipset or future Hx10 or Bx60 boards #4 Cheap bastards, they put a mid range chipset to compete with AM1? #5 Is this normal? I have family in Thailand actually.. I didn't know they got early releases. #6

Thailand sellers are known to disregard Intel's NDAs and embargos. It's not "normal". #7 Am I the only one browsing those pictures looking for a Graphics Card... :banghead: #8

More like "business as usual" in Thailand. :) #9

There was an IT trade show last week in Bangkok (it's called Commart), so retail shops rushed the products to make debut in that event regardless of the schedule. Dec 28th, 2024 23:03 +07 change timezone Sign in / Register Latest GPU Drivers
