Feb 6, 2017 9 0 1,510 Hi all, Below is my system. For games like Rainbow Six: Siege I'm finding myself having to run it on low settings. And for games like H1Z1, I feel like the picture is not as clear as it should be. Curious if the GTX 1060 is worth the upgrade? Basically I feel like I can get a 1060 for $200ish, which I'm not looking to spend, but comfortable doing if it's 'worth it'. Whereas the 1070 is probably the preferred upgrade, but they are $400 which I do not see myself spending anytime soon. So is the $200 for a 1060 a big enough upgrade - will I (a PC noob) see the difference? Is it worth it? Or is it so minor an upgrade that I should stick with my 770? Mar 20, 2016 1,649 0 12,460 As long as the game is not CPU dependent, you will see a heavy increase in GPU power from the 770 to the 1060. In CPU bound titles, you might not see that benefit quite so much though, as the 2400 is getting a bit old & doesn't have a high base frequency. Upvote -1 Downvote greens

Feb 12, 2014 1,108 16 30,315 I hope you are thinking about buying the GTX1060 6GB and not the 3GB version which is also a bit slower. Generally speaking, the GTX 1060 6GB should be about 2x faster vs the GTX 770 but you should also not forget that it has 3x the amount of VRAM. Which means that you can game at higher resolutions and play future games that demand more GPU RAM. Upvote 0 Downvote Dan_44

Jan 30, 2016 12 0 4,520 I use a MSi 1060 3GB Gaming X model and it's a very quiet, cool and perfect for 1080p gaming on max/ultra settings @ 60fps. It's overclocks well if you need to and only Deus Ex:MD has 2-3 settings set to high instead of very high/ultra but I still have all the other bell and whistles on, in my opinion the visuals don't suffer at all as I can't tell the difference when these setting are dialled down a notch unless I study a screenshot and the difference is very minimal. Lastly only GTAV and DE:MD have just hit the 3000MB of vRAM out of the 3072MB available, with GTAV you can see how much vRAM each setting will use and can turn on/off the limiter option. I think it is worth it as the gap for a 6GB card is around the $100 mark for the same brand but it depends if you want to use it for 1080p or 1440p which a 1070 would be the go if you can afford it!
