The Ikonic line is K2's all-mountain core for 2019-2020 and the Ikonic 80Ti promises to be a high performing model within the range.

The price of this model is pushing the limit for a piste-focussed ski from a brand not necessarily associated with high performance and race heritage, but this is not your typical K2 ski.

The construction is similar to the rest of the Ikonic range but with metal stiffeners along the sides, which result in superb on piste performance; grippy and powerful fast and slow, and in long and short turns.

It may not have the usual K2 characteristics of being flexy and forgiving, but it doesn't compromise on fun either - it's fairly poppy considering its stiffness.

It wasn't greatly tested off piste, but naturally float will be compromised due to the piste-focus and the dimensions. Having said that, it can power through crud like a much fatter ski.

The looks are a matter of taste - it looks like a sports car with its ostentatious carbon fibre panels inlaid into a bling-white frame. On the other hand, that's pretty appropriate for a speedy high performer like this.

At £70 more than the frankly pedestrian-by-comparison Ikonic 84, this model has to represent good value, despite being relatively expensive.
