I am coming from a 1000rr that I sold last year and now getting the itch again and after riding a 750 I think it's the perfect engine size. The only mods I plan on doing is wheels and suspension. I don't want a super fast bike anymore. A stock 750 is plenty fast. I just want a really well handling bike. That is really why I asked this question. From what I am told the k6/7 design offers a better mass centralization which gives it better handling vs the k4/5. BUT is it worth $2000. Tough call... #8 · Jul 3, 2012 (Edited)

EDIT: if you are after a track/race prepped bike then get already prepped bike, that should be the cheapest way 0 Reply #9 · Jul 3, 2012 I have only done one track day in all my years riding, which was super fun, but I don't see myself doing too many just because the tracks are so far from me. Will mainly be a street bike maybe one or two track days a year. Right now I think I agree with you, save the $2000, unless someone can convince me the k6/7 is worth it... #10 · Jul 3, 2012 Where i live, k5's go for the same price as k6/7's all things being equal. Pretty weird if you ask me. #11 · Jul 3, 2012 IIRC the earlier 750 was slightly lighter and had a smidge more midrange than the K6. #12 · Jul 3, 2012 Yeah from all my research the k4/5's are a lighter then the k6/7's. Most are saying the k6/7 feels lighter though and handles better, I guess do to the central mass blah blah blah. I think the k6/7 are an overall smaller bike, which is a plus for me I am 5'8" 155 lbs. The only other pro I am finding for the k6/7 is the slipper clutch. I have rode a k5 750 and liked it, I guess I will have to find a k6/7 to test ride. See if it's worth $1500 - $2000 more. #13 · Jul 5, 2012 (Edited) Damn right now there is: K5 750 6000 miles $4500
or K7 750 8000 miles $6000 but he will take $5700
So now we are at $1200 more with 2000 more miles ahhh, not sure which to jump on. Both are the colors I want too. :frantic #14 · Jul 6, 2012 this is purely a purely aesthetic opinion, but i like the plastics more so on the k5. although, i might be a little partial since it was my first bike. also, the plastics LOOK to me as if they might provide more "protection" from the wind. but i do know that with new generations come better aerodynamics so it might again just all be in my mind. #15 · Jul 6, 2012 Get the 07. Nuff said here. #17 · Jul 8, 2012 I picked up a K7 myself, got a pretty decent deal on it for my area.
