Kim Chiu Slams Netizen For Ridiculing Leni Robredo's Birthday ...

Kim Chiu slammed a netizen who poked fun at the birthday greeting of Vice President Leni Robredo for the actress.

Kim, who turned 32 years old on Tuesday, April 19, turned emotional after sharing in an Instagram post the video she received from the presidential candidate, which she said made her special day complete.

“Kim, happy, happy birthday. Magkasunod pala birthday natin. But I want to wish you a very happy birthday. I know you’re in a good place now,” Robredo began in the video and continued to tell the It’s Showtime host “how inspiring your life has been for many people including myself.”

“Sinusubaybayan ko ‘yung journey mo at ikaw ang pinakamagandang example ng pag-defy ng lahat ng odds. At ‘yung kasikatan ay ginagamit para mag-influence ng iba sa kabutihan. So keep up the good work. Keep inspiring others. I wish you all the best. We wish all the luck in the world kasi you deserve it. Happy birthday!”

A netizen, however, caught the attention of Kim after mocking Robredo’s “you’re in a good place now” remark.

“OMG kinilabutan ako pgbati ni madam VP ky Kim chiu Kala ko talaga RIP na. Sorry #KimChiu had to play the vedio ng ulit2x,” wrote the Twitter user.

To which Kim promptly responded: “Wag ka nga! Di naman ikaw yung binati eh. Ako di ba? Ako yung nag birthday. Nakikinood ka na nga lang ganyan ka pa. Ako kasi naiintindihan ko, para sakin naman yung message.

“Ikaw ba? Nabati ka na ng taong tinitingala mo sa birthday mo? Bawas nega. Para angat buhay lahat,” she added.

Meanwhile, Miss Trans Global Mela Habijan, a known Kakampink or Leni supporter, took the time to explain how the idiomatic expressions “you’re in a good place” and “you’re in a better place” differ from one another.

“‘You are in a good place’ is an idiomatic expression that means someone is confident, at content. Being in a good place means one’s mental state is at peace.

“Iba ito sa ‘You are in a better place.’ Ito yung idiomatic expression na sinasabi sa taong namatay.”

Kim graced the grand rally for Leni and running-mate Kiko Pangilinan in her hometown Cebu Thursday night.
